江宜樺 Jiang, Yi-huah. Minister of the Interior, Republic of China


Jiang Yi-huah is Professor in the Department of Political Science, National Taiwan University. Jiang earned his BA and MA in political science from the National Taiwan University. In 1993, he gained his doctorate from Yale University. Jiang has spent most of his career in academia. In 1995, following a stint as an assistant research fellow at the Sun Yat-Sen Institute for Social Sciences and Philosophy, Academia Sinica, he became an Assistant Professor of Political Science at NTU. In 1999, he was appointed to full Professor, a post he continues to hold. Jiang’s main research interests are Western political philosophy, democratic theory, and classical liberalism. In 2008 he became Minister responsible for the Research, Development and Evaluation Commission under the Executive Yuan. In September 2009, he was appointed to the post of Minister of the Interior.
