郭承天Kuo, Cheng-tian

Kuo, Cheng-tian (郭承天) is President of the Taiwanese Political Science Association, Professor and Chairman of the Political Science Department, National Chengchi University, and also Professor at the Graduate Institute of Religious Studies, National Chengchi University. His research interests include political economy and the interaction between religion and politics. Prof. Kuo has recently published Religion and Democracy in Taiwan, a study of various Taiwanese religions and their relationships with democratic values and behaviors. He has also published numerous papers, including "Democracy and Religion in Taiwan" which appeared in the The China Quarterly and "Taiwan's Distorted Democracy in Comparative Perspective" which appeared in the Journal of Asian and African Studies. Prof. Kuo holds a P.hD in political science from the University of Chicago.
