Shiau, Chyuan-jenq (蕭全政) is Professor of Political Science at National Taiwan University. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, where he completed a thesis on the Political Economy of Rice Policies in Taiwan between 1945 and 1980. Shiau’s research interests include political economy, Asian economic cooperation, and the relationship between politics and business. He has written extensively on subjects such as Taiwan’s post-War economic development and the island’s political liberalization and democratization.
